Vian was born in Amsterdam in 1959. He studied graphic art at the Gerrit Rietveld Art Academy in Amsterdam, where he made drawings, etchings, lithography and woodcuts.
He made abstract as well as figurative art. His trademark is painting in a very personal manner, that found its origin in surrealism, using the Japanese brush and acrylic paint on canvas.
At a distance a playful symphony off colors in his paintings, offer an experience of pure pleasure. When zooming in on the canvas, you see a taoistic dedication to detail.

Since januari 2008 Vian owns the company Mooie Muren, that makes unique digital wallpaper and murals.
